I will never forget my first meeting with Abby and her mom Beth. Abby and Beth had heard of me, as a wedding planner, through a local florist they had hired. We were sitting at Starbucks and I was going through the motions that I do during every initial consult, asking about the wedding, the date, what they have booked and all other details. I stopped to ask Abby what the colors of her wedding were and she responded "happy colors." I remember putting down my pen and knowing, at that moment, Abby was going to be my bride. The colors were bright pink, orange, and yellow; I was in love. I remember laughing through the meeting and shortly after Beth and Abby decided to hire me.
Abby was finishing up nursing school and even studied for her NCLEX during wedding planning. I am not sure how she did but within the year Abby was engaged, graduated school, became a nurse, moved into a house and got a job. WOW! The best part of Abby is that she was always easy to work with whenever I needed decisions made. On the rare occasion Abby was too busy, I worked with her mother Beth. I am not sure how far into planning we were but I became family to them and they became family to me. We had coffee, watched the bachelor, drove to Cincinnati and even went to Jungle Jim's together! Even with the last week of planning coming to a close and emotions running high, we all plugged along as a team. The wedding was beautiful, the weather was awesome and Abby was the happiest bride I have ever seen. Beth and I made sure to have surprises for Abby and Dan throughout the day. At the end of the day, I can say this girl deserves all ten days she is spending in paradise with her new husband!
